Home of hand made alpaca items!
Alpaca what?
Alpacas are docile and quirky animals native to South America, but have found their way north to Canada, the USA, and many other countries across the globe.
The welfare of the alpacas is of the utmost importance. We must shear them every year so they don't suffer in our hot and humid summers. We then take their raw fibre and process it into yarn, making super soft and hypoallergenic products to keep us warm (and stylish) during the winter months.

Why Alpaca Fibre?
Alpaca fibre is soft, warm, and hypoallergenic. It is a luxurious fibre that is incredibly insulating, naturally wicking, fire resistant, sustainable, eco-friendly, and resists odors. There is a lot of work that goes into processing raw fibre into a final product. We at A Mindful Maker have found great joy in making items slowly, by hand, and with mindful intention.

Meet The Maker
At A Mindful Maker, we have a passion for fibre arts, but we never forget where that fibre comes from. Most days you can find our founder Kayley on the farm caring for these beautiful creatures. The welfare of the alpacas always comes first.
